I've been thinking to change my K&N 57i kit to a closed airbox kit to get colder air to the engine.
The K&N kit is nice but sucking warm air on top of the engine isn't very optimal.

This kit takes the air straight from the radiator opening in the front bumper. It transports the cold air straight to the engine trough an carbon airbox from Pipercross.

The airbox used is from Pipercross and is called Viper. We added a few parts to make it fit on the 107.

The pipes are nicely mounted on the engine and unable to move or rub against anything.

his is the testsetup, we are going to make it a bit nicer with nice pipes and braces so it doesn't look like a home made kit.

What model is the Pipercross? On their website cannot find anything for 107. Did you use the Fast Road or? Give us some more details please.
    Thanks

In my opinion the airbox should be closer to engine... because clod air have time in this pipes to warm up...

why would it matter where the airbos is then? the lenght of the pipe will be the same.

I have doubt about K&N filters. What is the difference between K&N 57i 57-0669 kit and K&N 33-2131 air filter?

the 57i kit is a High Performance Induction Kit, a filter that needs to be mounted on top of the engine.

The K&N 33-2131 is a replacement filter for the current filter.

my research tells me that this filter gives a bit more power than stock one (but less than induction kit) and is designed for people who doesn't want to fit the kit (because it's more expensive and need to be "fitted") and want simply a better filter. Am I right?
I live in Portugal and in this country it's not easy to find some equipment for some cars and even quality information about it so i will use and participate in this blog to help modifying my citroen C1 1.0i. thank you for this blog guido

And one more doubt about the induction kit. Obviously the cone is an airfilter that has a much higher flow than a stock filter but this "high flow" is completly safe? I mean, this high flow blocks all dirt like the stock filter?

    yes that's correct.

Do you know how much horsepower is increased with the Viper kit?

If it does do you notice a difference?
