I have fitted a 10 sec light delay in the interior roof light.

Here is the unit.

Here are the instillation instructions. (lampen= light, portierschakelaar= door switch, rood= red, binnenlicht vertrager= light delay unit, zwart=black)

This is the original car electricity schematic. The Red wire of the Light delay connects to the red wire of the car light. The Black wire of the light unit connects to the white/black wire of the car light. Check the next pictures.

Interior roof light, with a Philips Bluevision W5W light, it's allot brighter and whiter.

Take the light filter off with a little screw driver or your car key on the right side.

By squeezing the sides you can take the light unit out. same for the green connector.

Here are the three (Red, Blue and White/Black) wires

The Red wire of the Light delay connects to the red wire of the car light. The Black wire of the light unit connects to the white/black wire of the car light.

Tape everything together so it's does make weird noices hitting your roof.

Put the connectors back in.

Push the light back in the frame.

Done.

I was wondering if the light delay happens just when you close the door or even when you manually turn on and then off the interior light.

Only when you close the door.

I added exactly the same delay.
great idea ! but mine seems to have random delay times ,sometimes 3 seconds sometimes 10.
Does your delay do the same ?

No works perfect everytime it's 10sec. Maybe it's broken?

the reason it seems like it has a "random" delay time is because the delay unit is just a capacitor that charges up as you have the light on. The longer you have your door open, the longer the delay will be - up to a point like 10 seconds though - hope this explains it.

De lokale brezan weet zich niks voor te stellen bij wat ik nodig heb. Probeer daarom Conrad.nl

Weet daar niet wat te zoeken, iemand die hulp kan bieden?
